Music Video: I Find You

Steve · March 23, 2020 · Leave a Comment

During this difficult and fearful time, when so many of us are quarantined away from family, friends and colleagues, when more and more of us are experiencing this pandemic first- or second-hand, it’s a very good time to remember that God keeps showing up in our world in beautiful and unexpected ways.

Here’s another new music video from me and my creative collaborators, a song called “I Find You” that calls us to seek and find God in all the wonders and questions and ordinary moments of our lives. The lyrics are below if you find them helpful.

Grace + peace to you all. Drop me a line and let me know how you are doing and where you are finding God these days.

I Find You
By Steve Givens and John Caravelli

Mist on the lake this morning,
Three deer feeding in the field
Blessed myself and crossed the meadow,
The chill of truth down in my bones.
The orange sun broke the horizon,
I felt myself go to my knees.
Overwhelmed by sudden beauty,
Caught off-guard and stunned by peace.

I find you, out on the horizon.
I find you, down on my knees.
I find you, in everything around me,
And everything astounds me
When I find you.

Turn off the television.
Draw together for a meal
Say grace for these blessings,
For the first time in a week.
Busy lives and dirty dishes,
Can pull apart or help us see
That there is grace in this communion,
And, this family around me.

I find you, in busy lives and dirty dishes.
I find you, with my family around me.
I find you, in everything around me,
And everything astounds me
When I find you.
