Always appreciate your thoughts Steve. I live in upstate New York.
What gives me balance in this strange and new time is seeking
solace in my morning readings, music, daily walks, simple meals,
and reaching out electronically to friends and family. At Christmas
my parish has a tradition of giving everyone the gift of a book. This
year’s book is “An Ignatian Book of Days” by Jim Manney. It is absolutely
wonderful! Stay well… take care….

Thank you, Jane, for leaving a note and for the book recommendation. I’ve read several others by Jim Manney, so I’ll have to add this one to my list.

Steve – I am finding these thoughts, prayers, now helpful. I have heard several people say they are enjoying the pause we are in and doing new things. The frenzied activity and the compulsions are not as powerful as they usually are. I am walking a couple of times a day and on the very gray days, I see my neighbor’s yellow forsythia bushes on their drive. It fills me with gladness, hope and gratitude. Last week I prayed for every segment of society affected by this. This week I am in gratitude for things. We still have trash pickup and recycling is still open. Take care – Joan

Thanks, Joan. Even as I write this, the trash truck pulled up in front of the house…a small blessing on such a day. Thanks for writing.
